When you enter the Canyon View House, you’ll understand immediately where it got its name. A wall of glass and sliding doors draw you to an expansive deck two stories above ground with extraordinary views of the Coastal Range and the valley below. The Lodge accommodates 6-8 with a chef’s kitchen and a spacious great room that combines cooking, dining and entertainment.
Established in 2019, the Canyon View House is the most recent addition to the three private lodges located on Lobitos Creek Ranch with:

All three lodges have access to our own 70 acres of rolling hills that include hiking trails. There are opportunities for families to have outdoor activities in the Ranch's "game coral" or fenced in dog park. Surrounding the Ranch is extensive Open Space Land with opportunities to visit virgin redwoods and nearby beaches.
The remodeled lodge has a 500 square foot wrap-around deck and is perfect for a family vacationing together or for a group retreat, where both public and private spaces are important.
We went back to the studs a few years ago to create a Master and Guest Master, both with deck access and en suite new bathrooms. Complimenting these, are a bunk room and a pull-out sofa bed in the living room which share another bath. There are sweeping views from every room in the house. The wood-burning fireplace and day-long exposure to the sun warms the home. There are additional radiant heaters in each bedroom.
Amenities include WiFi connectivity, a 48" HDR video screen, private parking, an outdoor fire pit and picnic area with a grill that is both charcoal and gas. There is access to a washer/dryer but most importantly, expansive redwood decks – for dining, sunning or private conversation with a glass of wine as the sun sets.
Small parties and events are possible here for 10-12 people, check with us first if you are interested in an event to understand our guidelines and protocols and to see photos of previous events. Larger events including weddings are possible at our Main Ranch where we have lawns and parking: VRBO.com/1503325. We do charge scalable event costs for any event to cover the costs of utilities, recycling, additional staff time, parking areas and use of our event bathrooms . Pop up or Rave parties are not permitted. We will shut those down.
If your group needs an extra bedroom and bathroom, ask us about the Studio at Canyon View. It has a queen bed, large living area and bath that can be added as an option if someone needs a little more privacy. It's located on the lower level of the Canyon View House and is only rented out if the main party needs a fourth private bedroom and bathroom. There are no other renters allowed for this unit.
When leaving the Canyon View House and turning left it is a three minute walk along Irish Ridge to the Main Ranch compound where you can see our animals, enjoy our dog run and access our trails and resident art studio. If you turn right when leaving you can start on a tranquil (1hr) hike into the redwoods to see our nearby Hearth tree.
There is a robust WIFI service here. It’s delivered by a solar powered, and a deer fenced, microwave link from a nearby mountain top.
Also, we have recently installed our stand by generator to provide power when PG&E decides to shut down.
