Experience Goldfield's Unique Charm: Glamping with Ghosts
Listing copy:
Nestled in the tranquil, remote, and enchantingly dark Nevada desert, our vintage 1950s trailer transports you to a bygone era. This hidden gem lies at the heart of Goldfield, a legendary mining town that birthed Zak Bagans' famed Ghost Adventures TV show, with the abandoned Goldfield Hotel just a mile up the road. Immerse yourself in the eclectic ambiance of our retro trailer, disconnect from the modern world, gaze at the star-studded skies—some of the darkest in the USA—and embark on a ghost-hunting adventure through the town's intriguing history.
Goldfield, an intriguing destination in its own right, serves as the perfect pit stop for travelers en route to/from Death Valley, Yosemite, Reno, or Las Vegas. Those not in a hurry can explore local attractions such as the Car Forest, the Area 51 boundary, the Florence Mine, and other nearby historical landmarks, as well as the charming town of Goldfield itself.
Accommodations:
Our one-of-a-kind 1955 trailer, nestled along a rustic dirt road, offers a rural neighborhood feel with houses nearby, yet still provides a sense of seclusion. The trailer, although vintage, is rock-solid, safe, and exudes a comforting, homely atmosphere. It has received numerous updates over the years, making it a charming time capsule of desert life. As one guest aptly described it: "Brooke's place is a charming sixties-era trailer, a kitschy, cool oasis filled with desert artifacts, nestled on a picturesque patch of land with trees, an old truck, a hammock, a weathered wooden structure, and scenic views. It's clean, but the age and desert dust are part of its charm. Leave pretension at home."
Inside:
While ideal for a romantic retreat, the trailer can accommodate up to four guests and offers room for entertaining in the outdoor spaces. It features a compact yet well-equipped kitchen with hot running water, a grill, and a refrigerator, making meal preparation a breeze. While there's no stove, we provide a Keurig coffee maker and a microwave, and the outdoor grill is perfect for cooking up a feast. Enjoy dining on the covered deck just outside the trailer's front door, where the cool desert evenings are perfect for alfresco meals.
Inside, you'll find a plush queen bed with cozy linens, a small living room with recliners, Wi-Fi, a TV, books, and videos for entertainment. The compact bathroom boasts full plumbing and excellent water pressure, ensuring a delightful shower experience.
Outside:
The outdoor space offers a hammock, a covered patio, pear and apple trees, and a treasure trove of Nevada's mining history artifacts to explore. On-site parking is available, along with a propane grill for outdoor cooking. As night falls, the property comes alive with enchanting mood lighting, creating a tranquil and mesmerizing atmosphere for stargazing. Goldfield boasts one of the darkest skies in the continental United States, making it a haven for stargazers and astrophotographers. Don't forget to bring your telescope and camera equipment!
Lucky travelers might even encounter the local wildlife, with burros and deer known to visit periodically. Please note that smoking and open flames are strictly prohibited on the property and in town.
Weather:
Goldfield's desert climate offers mild conditions throughout most of the year, especially during the spring and fall. However, summers can be hot, and winters can turn chilly. Rest assured, we provide a heater and air chiller to keep you comfortable year-round.
Exploring Goldfield and Beyond:
Explorers and photographers will be captivated by Goldfield and its surroundings, offering breathtaking natural beauty and perfect lighting in the heart of rural Nevada. From panoramic vistas to abandoned mining equipment, artifacts, and echoes of the past, the area offers endless opportunities for exploration. Don't miss the charming local stores and museums for added enjoyment.
Nearby Dining:
For dining options, Dinky Diner serves food primarily from Monday to Saturday between 8 AM and 4 PM. In town, you'll find two bars, The Sante Fe and The Mozart, both offering bar food, with The Mozart even serving Sunday breakfast. If you're willing to take a short 30-minute drive to Tonopah, NV, you'll discover a range of dining options, including pizza, Mexican cuisine, fast food, and several cafes. Tonopah also hosts the nearest grocery store, Raley's, for your convenience.
