The Chalet is spotless and beautifully appointed, with cozy fine linens and a well appointed gourmet kitchen; complete with fresh dried spices, vinegars and cooking oils. The kitchen and great room are open and conducive to gathering. The gas wood stove adds warmth and ambience. Cathedral ceilings and windows everywhere create a tree house feeling. Our large second story deck overlooks the golf course, with a very private setting for outdoor dining. The griddle is awesome for dinners and breakfasts! Twain Harte Village is a ten minute stroll in the pines. There you will find great dining options, as well as a full service hardware store and the best grocery store in the county. Also, in the Village is Mini Golf, a skate park, a fun all-ages kids playground, and the Twain Harte Golf Course, all walking distance from the Chalet. The Golf Course offers both traditional golf and and 18 hole Disc Golf course! The Club House has a full bar and yummy offerings, snacks or a full meal. We have local live theater and music in the park all summer long. Twain Harte Lake is also a ten minute walk from the Chalet. This iconic lake, with a large sandy beach, full lifeguards, and lake toys for rent is paradise for families from Memorial Day throughout Labor Day. Our Chalet offers full Lake privileges, necessary for admission. Tennis and pickle ball courts are a three minute walk from the Chalet. Yosemite National Park,(1.5 hours) PineCrest Lake, (30 minutes) Dodge Ridge Ski Resort (40 minutes) and the Sierra Nevada High country are in our back yard.
Columbia State Park(20 minutes); a restored Gold Rush town is a must for gold panning and authentic stage coach rides! The St.. Charles Saloon for beer and great pizza, and Nelsons incredible Candy Kitchen will make everyone happy!
A beautiful day trip to Calaveras County ! (remember the Jumping Frog?)
Via Columbia, across Parrott's Ferry into Calaveras, HWY 4 to Big Trees, a world class giant sequoia grove that will astound. It's an easy flat hike. On the way back home stop in Murphys, with 20+ wine tasting options, fine dining, Mercer Cavern (wow), and fun boutique shopping.

25 minutes up 108, a beautiful High Country lake with beaches, fishing, and a 4 mile hike around the perimeter that's gorgeous.

Sonora Pass is the second highest in California. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses here, and during the summer folks are known to come up to the picnic benches at the pass with lots of goodies and fresh food for the "through hikers" , attempting the 2,000 mile journey, who stop to partake and share crazy stories about their trek..
